Watercolour painting of the iconic ’Tong Lau’ verandah type building on the corner of Tai Nan & Pei Ho Streets in the bustling and densely populated Sham Shui Po district. Here the artist shows his facination with the details of a Hong Kong street scene, presenting them as something almost magical and divine. Demonstrating his respect for this bustling grass roots with tits hard working residents. The title of this piece is a play on the name of this area ’Sham Shui Po’ which in Cantonese mean ‘Deep Water Pier’. Here the artist creates a playful 'Chinglish' title illustrate that sunlight does shine down into these concrete canyons.
